Singer song-writer Thelma Plum toured with San Cisco after gaining a spot as support act alongside Boat Show. The sold-out Melbourne show at 170 Russell was full of adoring fans who were greeted with a modest back drop of 6 silver balloons spelling out “T H E L M A”. Simple, yet eye-catching, Thelma’s stage setup mirrored her personality very well.

The shy soft-spoken singer was the stunning finish to the overall stage design as she stepped out. The light blue dress she proudly announced to have purchased that same day at Savers, underlined her humble and piercingly honest persona.

Even more than her appearance, her smooth voice captivated the audience. Thelma’s angelic voice filled the room with such purity; particularly throughout favourites such as ‘Young in Love’ and ‘Dollar’, noticeably attracting the audience to loudly sing along. The playful tones of her newest single ‘Ice Cream’, an ode to her love of the sweet treat, were also devoured by the crowd, obviously echoing the audiences own personal affection for the dessert.

Throughout the entirety of the evening, Thelma interacted with her fans on a personal level, expressing her fondness of all the support they give her and explaining why her songs came about and the special place they all take in her heart. Thelma was without a doubt one of the most stunning acts I have seen this year.
