Hey friends, my name is Emma.

I am a Music Business student in Melbourne with a love for all things music.

​

My musical tastes are very open, I listen to everything from Amity Affliction to Sticky Fingers to Fleetwood Mac.

​

 I’ve always loved music, especially how it is a way of understanding feelings and thoughts that aren’t easy to verbally express otherwise.

​

“My music will tell you more about me than I ever will.”

​

I am unsure of the source of this quote, but boy oh boy did someone get it right! Music is such a personal factor within our lives and “good music” is highly dependent on each individual’s taste. A lot can be given away about a person based on the type of music they listen to.

​

I’d like to share some of myself by introducing you to the music that makes me.

​

The great thing about music is that it connects people in ways that cannot otherwise be done. When you’re at a live gig and surrounded by people all sharing in your experience with you, there is such an overwhelming sense of community and belonging that I personally have not felt in any other situation. It’s addicting.

​

Over the years, I have discovered that my love for music goes further than being a passion.  Music is what I love, what I feel and what I breathe. For me music is EVERYTHING.

​

This blog will act as my platform to discuss music as I journey towards my dream of being a music journalist. I plan to share great stories and bands with you all and also would love for you to share some with me, so please feel free to comment any thoughts or send recommendations my way.
