San Cisco 'The Water' National Tour Review

San Cisco, formed in 2009, is fronted by Jordi on guitar and main vocals, who worked the crowd incredibly well. He is backed up by Josh and Nick both on synth and guitar, and Scarlett (the only female in the group) is the band’s drummer, vocalist and an all round perfectional bad ass!!!

Their upbeat, beachy vibe filled the whole room from start to finish. Through a mix of new songs and old favourites, San Cisco kept the room engaged and wanting more. The crowd involvement was high throughout the whole set, largely thanks to San Cisco’s infectious energy. In between songs Jordi would

share the inspiration behind each song, giving everyone a glimpse into their creative process. For example, their new song ‘The Water’ is actually based upon a love story on an asylum seeker boat, ‘Hey! Did I do you wrong?’ is about a friendship that just ends for no apparent reason, and ‘Snow’ is about travelling.

The crowd favourite was easily ‘Fred Astaire’ as it had the whole audience singing along. However, my personal favourite from the set was Jordi’s solo performance of ‘Molly’. The stage was blacked out with just a few blue lights streaming down on him through the smoke, taking his performance to another level. To witness him with just his guitar was so heavenly, pure and raw.

San Cisco are currently wrapping up their tour, ending it at the Astor Theatre in Perth WA with an all- ages show on Sunday the 2nd of July. Be sure to keep your eyes open for their next tour.
